no idea what kinda cactus this is and normally pretty good with cactus(or so I think, haha)

this thing is taking off in this summer heat.

Nice to have a name for it Bill. It's a common one, I do know that. I haven't raised cactus for years.

I used to have a hard time with them (late 70's) 'cause where I lived was gas heated, and that was blamed for the lack of success.

We had a friend out in a town near Orangeville who owned and operated a greenhouse business. Marsville Greenhouse, as I recall was the name of it. He was a Dutch fellow (Fred). Every Christmas he brought gifts of plants. And every time we'd kill them - heh! heh!

When he brought cactus, the kind pictured here, I used to like the way the ears moved as another would grow in. It was just like watching a family grow.
