That it will take over and crowd out everything. It's so pretty. Is it true?

That's Transcendia/Spiderwort..
Come's in a couple of colors..
Purple, Hot Pink, White..and maybe blue>??

I have never heard of it being a bad plant,
other than it gets gangley looking, or lays down.

I've read you can get one of those flower holder uppers, a thing you stick over it before it starts to grow and the plant grows up between it
and it holds it up....

Thanks Bill. What did I do wrong and why does it say 4/30 AM when it's really 4/29 PM?

And thanks Weezie. This plant just showed up, in a couple of places. I don't remember planting it. I'm happy to keep it. It's pretty.

I have had it in my gardens in 3 different locations for several years now and it seems to actually be a well behaved plant. It doesn't seem to reseed babies all over the place or nothing.
IMHO it is a nice addition.

Yes, spiderwort, I have it in pink. My friend always called it "mother-in-law's tongue". It can be invasive, mine spreads by runners underground. Personally, invasive to me means lots of divisions to fill my yard up with gardens or plants to give my friends!

I agree-I had some sprout up on me a few years ago-actually, I think I had been pulling it up before that, thinking it was a weed. It seems to travel, whether by seeds or roots, and the clumps get bigger over time, but it's a nice little plant. Pretty flowers, nice filler, and I read that if you cut down the foliage after it finishes flowering, it will reflower in the early fall-mine regrew, but didn't flower. I'd keep it definately!

Cindy, I tried to PM you that I'd send you some of the plant but I got an error. I'm not sure if it's my computer, which has been acting wierd or the forum, but I get an error no matter what I tried to post today. Anyway try to send me your address and I'll send it.
