Ashley, Just so you know, I edited your picture..
****when posting an image or URL, and you click on either of those buttons... A http:// shows up when you first click it on.. and it's blue, you have to get rid of it first or delete it.. when you copy and paste a URL from somewhere's it already has the http:// on it...)
And then the plant you are asking about, is it the purple one???
Try Transcendia... in a FORUM SEARCH here... there's beens several posts on this plant.. ***and it'll eventually have beautiful purple flowers*

Are you asking about the purple one? Maybe a variety of Wandering Jew? Mine becomes more purple with brighter light. The other looks like an aloe.

Cricket, They're a house plant for me.. *What's your growing zone?*
But they could be planted outside during the summer, and then brought back into the house for winter...
They are beautiful, dark purple against green plants, makes both colors pop out!!! And it has the cutest little purple flowers on the end of them.. And if it gets too spindley, just cut off and re~root in water and replant...VERY SIMPLE...

Weezie, I'm in zone 8 - it's too cold for Wandering Jews (I tried) so probably for Tradescantia too.
I bet it's beautiful as a houseplant. I'll look out for it as nurseries increase their stock. With the jungle overtaking my home, I may have to move to a larger house!

Weezie is correct! I have this one...it was in a hanging basket but is now planted in the ground(I live in Southern California).... watch out for slugs and snails if planted in the ground.
Plants n' pots has a beautiful picture of her's somewhere on this site....inside shot looking out of the house with the plant in front of the window. ....If you can find her webshots album it is probably in there. Sorry, I don't have time to look it up for you at this time. Catlover

Ashley, Why Thank~You You'll have to pardon the pun, but I think "Plants are AWESOME"!! Honest and truely I do... I could talk about plants, and gardening and composting and sunshine and rain, and, oh my gosh, I get a little run on when it comes to plants....It's awefully hard to curb my enthusiasm for them sometimes....
And for helping people that are new to gardening or new to a certain plant.... Knowing what to do for a plant is one of the basic things and if I can help even just one person help a plant, then I feel truely blessed to be able to help... and get to get some one else really excited for gardening or getting into gardening is just the icing on the cupcake for me.
Glad to help!
