Yes, and if you read each one of the discriptions, they all say something to the effect about showing up after heavy rains, hurricane's, or just not expecting them there...
It's funny too, I was just looking up other lilies on MZSHIRLEY'S post about a spider lily and I was thinking about two other lilies and just happened acrossed the "RARE OR OBSCURE LILY" catagory...... So, it was good ole brain power for remembering I came acrossed something like that and lucky chance. That's the fun of it!!!

Yep... It sure looks like the Spider Lilly to me.
A little background.... I lived in this house in Houston for 10 years then moved out and had it rented out to an Australian family for 3 years. I since moved back in four years ago and have had at least two surprises in this section of my garden.
First I had a Blood Lilly show up last year and this... (I had to get help identifying that one too) and then this year, not one but TWO of these Spider Lillys have shown up in the exact same area.
I have learned something from all of this. My own plantings have always been too predicitable and ordinary... but for now on... I am going to look for more exotic varities.
Both the Blood Lilly and now this Spider Lilly are some of the most enjoyable I've ever had...
Thank again to all of you for your help...
Warmest Regards, Dave

Dave, looking at those pictures it appears to be the golden spider lilly. I love finding surprises in the garden! I've been here in this house for 5 years and still find the unexpected. That's what makes gardening so much fun! Like 5 turkeys running through the yard. Like this spring I found some funky maple trees in the woods. I'm gonna try and get some pics of that so someone here can tell me what it is. The bark on it as smooth as baby's bottom. I'll try to post that later.
