Can anyone tell me what this shrub is? It has spikes on the leaves and gets grape like clusters. A friend of mine didn't want it anymore, but she couldn't remember the name of it.  -

This is a Mahonia,not sure which variety you have there but they all have yellow flowers in the spring followed by blueish berries [thumb]

What you have is Mahonia aquifolium (Oregon Grape). The name has been changed to Berberis aquifolium.
