Whaddya' think - it's on the retaining wall at the back of the parking lot - faces west (which means it faces the building, so the white probably reflects on it)

Haven't a clue what it is.

It doesn't look all that healthy either. I might pull it and see what I can do with seeds.

Or transplant some into a pot and watch what it does.

I can't tell... Is it fern like? If so, it might be a Japanese painted fern (which is supposed to be purply).

Nope - I went to google and looked up japanese painted fern - doesn't look anything like that.

Tonite I cleaned that part of the wall out - cut off a lot of oak branches (poison oak, I'm sure - there's a lot of it).

I pulled this plant stalk by stalk - cut the stems and cleaned the dead stuff away. Also took some seeds and put them in my scrub pot.

Tomorrow I'll take a closeup of the stuff in the vase.

I sprayed them with a light suds I make from baby shampoo - just enough to clean the leaves and stems - I find it seems to keep bugs off stuff without killing off the wildlife.
