My mom gave me a cactus today but I have no idea what it is or how to take care of it. I know cactus plants love sun but thats about all I know.
This thing is really long and hangs out of the side of the pot. It sort of reminds me of an acorn. It's very hard and sturdy even though it is hanging so I'm assuming it's meant to be this way.
Any ideas??

Since there are thousands of cacti (& succulent) varieties, a picture would be very helpful here. I may just have this specimen, but there are several "hanging" cacti in my yard alone! If you don't have a digital camera (or your friends & family), take a pic & get a cd with your prints. Every place offers that now. Then you can load it & email/send it.
