There is a house near me that has a large shrub-tree with red blooms. It is dark green and lovely. Does anyone know what it could be? I live in S.C. so it's cold here and for something to start blooming?

esor, I'm in SC too. They do bloom in winter. Some start blooming as early as Nov. and others put on a show in early spring. Aren't they beautiful? They come in singles and doubles. If you have a little time, shop around. I know Lowe's had a ton of them and your garden centers should have a good supply.
