Your plants definately look like pothos to me. I usually detect the difference b/t pothos and philodendrons as the phil. having what appears to be "sharper" edges..more, um, angular. If you can see on your pothos, the edges are bit softer and more curvier. Good luck on whoever is rooting their plant! I am trying to root a cutting from a marble pothos and it seems to be taking forever! I have to check now and make sure I have the nodes submerged in water! Thanks! Member # 1672 posted                       Triss - I've had a pothos now since I lived in Alaska - 30 years now! Usually each year around this time, it loses a bunch of leaves - I don't think it likes the dryness with the heater on. The stems get leggy, so I cut off the healthy tips and make sure to put at least one good node in the water. You can also put it in a pot, making sure it does not dry out. It doesn't have to go in with the mother plant, but can if you'd like to make it fuller. Mine have only put out a single new stem from where the ends were cut. sibyl - I agree that your plant is a pothos. Here are some cuttings that have been growing in a betta fish vase for about 1 1/2 years. My mom had things growing in water like crazy... She never missed with the though Mom used soil in the house only when necessary! She had all various potho. ivy, philodendrom (whichever) growing lots of places - over things and around things... and generally it led back to a pot of rooty water. Thus my violet leaves for which I still have no solution. Seeded: 69.137.32.10
