I just got a bit of useable compost and upon potting up some things- I found tiny little centipede looking "worms" in it. What are they and how do I fix it?? I tried getting pics, but it was all blurry and you couldn't tell anything. I did get most of them out by putting a piece of potato in the pot and leaving it overnight, but want to know how to fix this problem....

Those are a common bug that would be found near or in compost.. They are a good bug, they break down dying material... I can't say they are bad...
Are you using the compost for outside stuff? or an indoor pot??
I don't use compost inside, just outside, and for me, I don't mind them.. To my understanding, they aren't harmful...

Yeah, you pretty much have got to do a good inspection of pots/containers' when they come inside.. They usually do have a fair amount of "outdoor~critters" on or in them.....
And usually if it's starting to be fall or chilly time, they like to set up camp/residency in nice snuggly places, that keep some wet water out and protection against the winds and elements... so, those are #1 spots to head to....

none of those bugs are a problem outside inside ,its a matter of personal taste.

If you have plants outside for long periods of time before bringing them inside for winter spray with insectisidal soap a day or two in advance .
