I think i just did the WORST possible thing I could do to my houseplants...every one of them! [Eek!] That includes a jade, an aloe, a prickly pear, an Amaryllis, my wonder egg seeds, lucky bamboo, and lots more... I've been watering them with a... windex spray bottle... I thought it was washed out REALLY good, but I sprayed some on my hand today, and I 'detected' slight traces of windex in the water.. [shocked] [Eek!] [tears]
I've been watering everything with that for 5 days or so, and have not seen anything bad happening to them, other than my wonder eggs not sprouting yet, but I think that's normal...
DID I KILL MY PLANTS!!! [tears] [tears]

Windex is ammonia - methane/ammonia where part of the primordial soup that spawned life on this planet - it is thought. In an aquarium - ammonia would be turned in to nitrates for the plants by the process of the nitrosamine digesting the waste of fish that turned in to ammonia.

They should live.

My house plants did great when I did a water change on a few 35 gallon fish tanks.

Sibyl .... Meaning Ammonia is a natural occurance in nature.. ex.. all animals go to the bathroom in the woods urine being the ammonia soooo it will not inhibite your plants as in such a diluted amount..
Hope that helped a bit? [dunno]
