I started to pm individual people but there are soooo many great pictures here. My question is; May I use your bird pictures on my website? It is about my store The Wren's Nest which is a wild bird feeding shop. I have a page of photos from friends & acquaintances. You can e-mail or link me to the picture. Tell me about the picture. Where it was taken, when(approximately is OK)in your yard on vacation...etc who took it, you can use just a first name or your whole name. What kind of bird if you know, if not thats ok too, etc. YOU will get credit for it not me, and I wont use it for anything except the webpage. I have US birds right now but if I get enough maybe I can add a page of our overseas feathered friends. Thank you! Wrennie

Wrennie, It's me again, I carve birds and have a particular fondness for wrens. I thought you might like to see this mother wren I carved and put in this gourd. The nest blew out of a tree and was not a wren nest. Wren nests are big and a little messy.

Thanks. but if you saw the other guys you would see I am just an amateur at carving. No, I don't sell them. Mostly I give them away for fundraisers and the like. Also to family, so when I am gone they will have a little bird to remember me by.

Gail, you're much too modest! I think your wren is totally AWESOME! Since I've come to find out that Thorny is a very wise man, I think I'll have agree with him when he says...

Okay, here is a sandpiper that I just finished for a competition (my very first competition). We were not allowed by the rules to carve detailed feathers, so they are painted on. Also here is a screech owl which I have been painting forever and was stuck with dull, but have consulted with a master and learned what to do next. I just haven't had time to work on it. But I think pretty soon I will finish it and it will have a lot more life to it.

I am disappointed. I put my little sandpiper in the competition and it didn't even place. But I am not giving up. I will enter it in a bigger show in April and another bird too.
