Okay, I have this plant that my husband says is a weed, but I say it looks like a cosmo. He wants me to yank it, and I say leave it. Can anyone help us figure this one out? I did plant cosmos in this location about about 3 or 4 years ago. Thanx.

don't think it's cosmos...3-4 years ago, even if they reseeded, I'm not too sure their seeds would lie dormant (of course, I could be wrong!)

Not sure what it is, but I'm 99.9 percent certain that it's not a cosmos....they are my favorite flowers.

Some kinda' vegetable, I'll bet - it looks like something you might think of eating - not now, when it's spent, of course - but it probably looked edible in its prime.

This is Cosmo. I can see why you might think your whatever is a Cosmo, but it's a little off... Cosmos branch out in clumps & tend to aim "up" rather than "out".
It's a bit tall to be Asparagus, I think. Personally, since it's not hurting anything, I'd leave it alone till it flowers... & pull it out if it turns out to be a "weed"!
