Really? I grew some MG's this year but the shape of the leaves look nothing like the ones I have growing right now. If it is a MG it isn't getting pulled that's for sure.

If you're real lucky, those are Japanese Morning Glory vines. They have the distinctive foliage and the blooms are huge in comparison to most types of Morning Glory.

Wow, it looks like it huh? I pulled a few of them out too because they were wrapping around a small tree I have and strangling it....but I do still have the one growing on the fence.

I guess I'll leave it and cross my fingers.

The morning glories I purposefully grew have leaves that look nothing like that--that's why I didn't think it was MG......

Ooo, I hope that was it is....pretty Diane! [thumb]

I knew there were quite a few, I just didn't realize the leaves could look so different. [thumb]

I wonder how they got there...birds maybe? [dunno] I'm pretty sure I didn't plant them. Then again I could be wrong. I had 3 types, but I thought only one type made it.

The one strangling my thuja tree I know I didn't plant it was in a weird spot--where I wouldn't have planted anything.

I'll be keeping an eye on it.

It is a morning glory. I had the same discovery this year too. Last year's MGs were heart shaped leaves, but this year they are lobed like in your pic.

Now here's the funniest part... my Moon Flowers have heart shaped leaves, and last year their roles were reversed. [nutz] The MGs were heart shaped, and the moon flowers were lobed.

Have fun with it! [flower]

I just wish I wouldn't have pulled the other few up now! [Eek!]

Thanks! [thumb]
