Here is somthing that i found in a recent Canadian Gardening Magazine to help protect your plants...flowers...veggies and shrubs from Deer and Rabbits.

Take...2tbsp (30ml) of Murphys Oil Soap.
1 cap full of yellow mouthwash....add to a 1 litre spray bottle and top up with water.
Says it also deters rabbits from eating the bark off tree's too. [thumb]

Hi Penny. As you know I part educated in Canada but I don't know why you want rid of deer. All my neighbors would love deer to come into their gardens. Even if they ate plants.

We do have the country behind us in my new house and Chewmonster my Staffordshire Bull terrier, once, out on his walk, chased a deer for all of 6 seconds before having a violent asthma attack and resigning defeated [nutz] .

Seriously it shows the difference between different cultures though. We have few deer here and they are so cute (Bambi) that we would be happy for you to send us a few. Rabbits though.....where is the mouthwash? [Smile]

I had rabbits that ate all my sunflowers last spring [Big Grin] [Big Grin]
I guess its more for people who dont want Bambi munching on a new plant or shrub they have just planted...and the same goes for Thumper [Big Grin]

Interesting combination of the two. I dunno that I would want to eat anything outta the garden that had Murphy's on it though? Wonder if it would wash off easy?

All of us could take a lesson from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.
