It does look more like tradescantia spathacea to me also Weezie.

yes, it's part of the wandering jew varieties...

tradescantia spathacea is the 'moses in a boat' one.

this one is another variety...and google is not providing the info at the moment. well, it's not really googles fault - the one site's registration has expired...and, of course, that's the one that has most of the varieties listed!

i have this one - got it in a trade with angelblossom. some of the pieces have grown exactly like this one...others stayed more purple and don't have that 'bolted' look. i don't know why they've grown differently as they all have the same light source.
