I have a problem with digging up plants (wild flowers) on the side of the road, out at my farm, etc... I have been known to dig up beautiful flowers and plant them in my yard...then when they are finished blooming they have terrible spiney things (I call them "hitchhikers") that stick to your clothes...
Well, anyway...I saw this at the farm Saturday. It is so pretty. Before I dig it up I wanted to know if it is going to turn into some kind of mean, alien thing when it finishes blooming. It is so pretty right now!

Although I am not positive as I cannot see the leaf.

Not to make things more difficult, but I just looked it up in my Peterson Guide to Wildflowers and it's also called Mist flower. I got my start along the road also (The Blue Ridge Parkway) when I was riding bike one day. I just pulled one stem with the roots attached and broke most of the stem off so I could hide it in my bike bag. It would have been a $50 fine if I'd have gotten caught. That was 2 years ago, and now it's grown into a patch about 3 feet across.
