my norfolk pine plant seems to be browning, and i'm worried it might die completely! the tips are brown on some branches, and it just seems very dry all over. should i prune back all the brown branches and tips? should i repot it? i've only had it since christmas. thanks for all your help!

Could you set up a picture? Usually browning means it is getting to little water, they like a good soaking when they get watered. Yes go ahead and trim the brown off.

Do you still have it in the pot it came in? mine did that until I replanted it, it may have something from the store?

Running your heat in the winter makes the air much drier and dustier. You may need to put it in the shower and spray off the dust. I try to spray mine every few weeks while it's in during the winter.

Keep it in a cool or cooler room if you can during the winter months. Like MLN said, vent heat will dry the air, then the needles.
Anytime my NIP lost browning needles, or even whole browning branches was in the winter months, in a room that was too warm for it, but I didn't have any other place to put it because it was so tall.

When I got mine(at Walmart) it was starting to dry out on the tips and the soil was REALLY dry. I brought it home, took it out of its pot, loosened up the root ball a little and repotted it. I water it once a week really well-until it comes out the bottom. It is still a little dry on the tips, but I have gotten a humidifier and hopefully that will help with it too.
