I had a purple passion plant that started wilting and eventually turned black/brown so I cut off the end and re-grew it. It was flourishing and just today I noticed the leaves wilting (after growing strong for about 2 mo.). It is in a pot w/ drainage, gets sunlight from the East in the morning/afternoon, and I haven't given it any food or fertilizer so that I don't kill the roots. I just can't figure out what I'm doing wrong!!!!! If anyone has experience with wilting leaves or purple passions I would greatly appreciate ANY feedback! Thanks so much!

They like to remain moist. But they do have dormant times so you have to watch the watering and change it so they don't get to much water when they are dormant. Also they don't like temperatures to get down to low so if you are using an airconditioning unit make sure it isn't blowing directly on your plant.

Mine likes fertilizer I use miracle gro and fertilize every two to three weeks. According to what I've read it would like a much heavier fertilizer but I only have some many gardening dollars so all my plants have to share.

I hope this helps.

I would think maybe needs more humidity.mine grows like a monster.I use the wal,art expert brand potting mix,but have thought if ever repot it would add some perlite.mines in a long planter.I have to keep it trimmed or it'll run away on me.I'll try to get a picture loaded.with those 5 days of rain it'll go to creeping everywhere again. Its shaded but gets some filtered sun durring the day on a E/W slant.the one in more sun grows slower.

I'm Yardy and I introduced myself in the reply box. Sorry, I'm new at computer!
But I have had purple passion all my adult life And They like to be feed. I have one in morning sun, one in midday sun, and one in no direct sun, but lots of flouresent light.
But I have one that has buds all over it. I've never seen this. Has anyone else? And what will flower look like?

They are orange colored but, most people pinch them off (like me) before they have a chance to open since they don't smell very nice.
