what is the best way to separate a rubber tree

depends on what you mean by separate. if you are taking about having 2 or 3 (or more) main stems (trunks) and wanting to separate them into different pots, a sharp knife is the way to go.

if you are wanting "cuttings" then either a sharp knife or pruners work.
