I need help. We recently purchased a house with an existing, overgrown flower garden. The only problem I have been unable to get rid of is obnoxious Oregon Grapes. They are extremely hardy with thick woody stems that DO NOT pull out very easily, and when they do just continue on to the next plant. Last year I cut them off at the ground with a pair of shears and they were back within a month. I love the flowers that are in the bed and really don't want to dig it all up and start from scratch. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks..

Using a paint brush paint the cut with brush killer, repeat the process several times within the same week. And you have to do it to every plant. I love the oregan grapes for jam but it is a pain to have around.
