I just got some cuttings off an Ivy, (just a regular lil Ivy) I was wondering if anyone knows the best way to get it started on growing some roots. [dunno]

welcome to the forum!!

just putting the cuttings in water should do it.

trim off a couple of the lowest leaves and make sure the container you put them in stays full up to just under the lowest leaf. place the container in a spot that gets some very bright light - not direct sunlight if the container is clear glass, tho. you should see some roots starting within a week or so.

Thank u Joclyn. I have tried to put Ivy in just water before, but it never rooted, so I was wondering if there was another way? I'm SO glad I found this forum, it looks like so much fun, and very helpful!

really?? wow, that's surprising as ivy is basically an invasive-type grower (and should root very easily) !!

you could try using a forsythe pot set-up...

here's a link for the instructions

and here are links to two posts right here on the forum.

i hope you have success!!
