I would love to plant a mountain laurel here, but wonder if it's too hot. I know they grow great in NC, but I'm in zone 7b/8A... right on the line. Do you think it would survive here if planted in a fairly shaded area?
Thanks!

I didn't go through their entire list, but Mountain Shadow Nursery lists at least several mountain laurels as hardy to zone 8 or even 9.

I've got one ordered... one named Bullseye. Can't wait to see it grow and bloom. I've loved these plants since I saw my first one on my honeymoon in NC 8 years ago. I finally get one! Woohoo!
Now I just hope I don't kill it!

It's funny to hear of people paying for something that grows wild where you are, isn't it? I think it is when folks buy wisteria, orange trumpet vine, or carolina jasmine. It all grows wild, literally everywhere here.
