are there any plants or bushes that dogs don't like the smell of??

my sis is looking to keep them off the grass (people walking their dogs don't follow the 'curb it and clean it' laws) and she can't put up a fence so, her only other thing would be to plant something.

A nice tight hedge of barberry should do quite nicely, it will also keep kids out as well! [Smile]
