I think if you staple something to the bottom they would make great planters!!!

Tonya, are they wood or plastic? (The way you seem to be holding them with so much ease, I'm sure they're not concrete!) What a sweety you have there, to pack stuff like that home for you! (Mine MIGHT, but he thinks I already have enough "junk"!)
Depending on what they're made of, I can think of a BUNCH of things I'd do with those! Like ground planters, stepping stone forms, (with colored rocks inside them), planter holders ...
This might get interesting... We'll see what other people come up with!

I think they are pine. They are the remnants of hollow wooden columns in the condos he is building. 5 inch openings(across) and many different heights.

With the different heights I would use them as planters!! But what will you put in them??

I would bunch them together and use them for herbs or strawberries since they're that narrow. if you have rope you could tie it around them together or individually to give them a pier look.

I think what I would do would be to have my hubby put some plywood in the bottom and nail it in. Then I'd have him string them all together so they hang one in a row, so I'd have the coolest looking hanging planters once some little pots were inserted! I'd probably paint something on them....Like Live, Laugh, Love....one on each one....and maybe a few flowers painted on them.
Then I'd grow something long down the top one like Vinca Vine, and something longish down the next one like wandering Jew, and then maybe some portulacas in the bottom one for a punch of color.

i think that you should paint them, and dress them up as if they are birdhouses--this will add to your garden if you hang them near a garden
