When I moved into my new house, I mistook an apple tree for a shrub (i know..sounds silly)and cut the tops off it like you would a shrub. I didn't discover that it was an apple tree until this fall when I found 1 mishapen yellow apple on it. What can I do to care for it in the future? Do I prune it and when?
