I have had this blue lacecap hydrangea for about 6 years or so. A few years ago a small branch broke off and I placed it in soil in my "baby nursery garden" under the deck stairs in the shade. Two summers ago I planted it out in a garden that gets morning sun - same as the momma. But this year the leaves are very yellow - what is causing that? A few leaves on the momma are slightly yellow too, and it's in a different garden.

yellowing is caused by 3 deficiencies: 1. iron 2. magnesium 3. nitrogen
the nutrients in the soil have probably been depleted & you need to fertilize
