I was recently given an Amaryllis as a gift and it has two stalks which bloomed beautiful red flowers! On the first stalk the blooms are gone so I trimmed them appropriately and I am waiting for the other flowers to fade before cutting the stalks. Is it necessary to wait for both stalks to finish their blooms before cutting? I'm new to this plant, so any advise would be greatly appreciated, as I would love to see it bloom again.

Thanks! [wavey]

Thanks for the info Bill! I'm a little confused though as to whether I have to let it go dormant for 6-8 weeks in Florida. It it a continuous process the plant must go through in order to bloom, or will it just keep re-blooming on its own here??
