Does it give you a nice splash of color for the summer months? My book says bloom time early summer to frost but sometimes I have found that not to be the case. I live in Virginia if that helps. Would you recommend this flower?

In my zone 9 they live over and bloom all year. They will get leggy and sparse without some pruning. I don't know it's behavior in other zones. Here is a pic of one bloom in March.
