I have some gras in my back yard. It looks similar to crabgras but has very skinny, round blakes. It has a brown, flat center. It is really ugly and I would like to get rid of it before it takes over.

Unfortunately, there is no chemical control for this species that I know of, once it has established itself. Keeping your lawn mowed to the correct height should keep it from going to seed. Other then just painting the leaves with Round Up (not a fun job if you have a bunch of it) the best thing you could do is after a good soaking rain, pull it out with a slow steady motion and try to get all the roots.
