Here is my little baby that I planted 2 months ago. It was very hot this summer so I watered it a lot. And i gave it azalea food. But it didn't bloom and it barely grew. It was really "leggy" so I cut some of the viney stuff that was growing out off. I wonder if I should have done that. I would love to see this thing get pretty next year, so any advice would be great. The plant faces east (Morning sun) and I am in "zone 6" should I cover it in the winter? Thanks for any help I can get.

it really depends on what kind of hydrangea you have. there are some vining types out there. also, some bloom on "old wood" (last year's growth) and some on "new wood" (the current year's growth) so, depending on the kind you have, you might have cut off your blooming growth!

good luck.
