my christmas cactus is loosing leaves and branches. it is not dead looking or even dry looking. I think it might be too hot, but I am not sure. Has anyone had this problem? I moved it from a sunny window to the middle of the same room, will that help? It doesn't seem to yet... Help please...

I understand it has been blisteringly hot up there recently and a sunny window in the summer may not be the best place for it. Try putting it outside if you have a place that will provide sun for only part of the day and let it dry in between watering. I have had a Christmas Cactus (that came from Quincy) for 30 years that the previous owner betlieved to be around 75 when she gave it to me. It spends it's summers on my front porch where it gets watered once or twice a week and winters in our family room where it doesn't get much sun at all. It's usually looking pretty unhappy by April when it heads back outside.

Its possible the move and change in lighting made the leaves fall.I grow mine in shade in the summer here.Mine does ok in the heat, but blooms great with our falls cooler temps.
