Hi everyone! I planted a bleeding heart bareroot some time ago & a couple of hostas & that very night it was eaten by something that apparently likes bareroots!! (probably a Fisher) I was wondering if anyone has any secrets to making them less palatable to critters? Maybe a container open at both ends??? Thanks (The hostas I can plant as plants, but some things only seem to come in bareroot.)

Hi Spider Lady, Wish I could help but I sure do not know an answer to this, but I will bump this back up to the top for you! I have never had a problem with critters eating my bulbs or my bareroots (knock on wood). Probably because I live in a former desert (we'd still be one if it wasn't for sprinklers!).

Hi BF... A Fisher is a weezil-type of critter--kind of cute...except when they're digging into stuff which isn't often. They have brown fur & sharp claws. Where in Northern County NJ are you from?
