I had no idea the red barberry would look so good in a vase. Now waiting for the peonies is going to be even harder. I can just see the pink and white blossoms against that burgandy background. It's going to be great.

Tammy, I just love my barberry...and this year the red ones are very multi-colored and just beautiful. i lost one of the yellos (more of a lime greenish)one...but the other one is almost a flouresent color. Was going to post a pic for you...but wouldn't you know it, finally learn how to post them and now am having trouble with the stinkin camera...will be fixed soon I hope! But, I can see what you mean about them looking great in a vase..hadn't thought of that!

Hi Vanessa,

I took some cuttings today since one of the branches had fallen down over some marigolds and while I was cutting it to the correct lenght and angle cut and all that stuff I noticed and just had to take the extra and put it in a tall blue glass vase that I bought for when the peonies bloom. At the time I didn't know it would be three years lol. I'm sorry that you lost one of the bushes.

I found these pics from last year when I planted them....keep in mind, they are much bigger this year and the color is MUCH, MUCH prettier...and less one yellow one! [tears]

I love the way you have landscaped it. I wish I had an eye for things like that but I don't. I'm sorry you lost the yellow one. May be you could take a cutting this fall? And root yourself a replacement.
