My aralias started having a sticky substance show up on the bottom leaves. It has persisted and more and more showed up. I wasn't sure what it was but noticed today small beads of sap?? on the top part of the plant. Why would my plant secrete sap, if it is sap?

I think you might have aphids on your plants. Someone will be along shortly that can give you the recipe for an organic way of getting rid of them.
