I have 4 azalea bushes that get full sun, are 3 years old, and are currently blooming. One of them has recently developed yellow and brown leaves. It had been dry here, but it has recently rained, and that is when the problem appeared. What is the problem?

Sometimes when it's dry, azaleas get lace bugs. They're tiny and hide out underneath the leaves and have sort of a lacy pattern on their wings. Healthy plants are better able to deter them. Other fertilizers that are good for azaleas are Holly-tone and cottonseed meal.

If you find you do have the lace bugs, you can spray with insescticidal soap, neem, superior oil, pyrethrin, or as a last resort rotenone.
