hello,
I have some white mold growing on some of my houseplants and it seems to be spreading. The mold is characterized by small white spots (like little cotton balls that are spread all over the plants). Sometimes it is also accompanied by a sappy sticky discharge on some plants. I am not sure what this is caused by or how to get rid of it but my plants are not getting any better recently. Any suggestions???

It sounds like you have mealybugs. [Razz]

Hi, I posted in another forum on this site, but I have a question...

What if the mold is only on the soil? Does that still characterize Mealybugs?

Hi Liz. I would say no. Mold on the soil isn't necessarily anything to worry about. It could mean you have a lot of organic material in the soil, which is good. You might cut back on how often you water, or try moving the plant to a spot where it gets a little more light. [thumb]
