Hey Guys,
[Wink] QUESTION: Is it necessary to rotate the plants that sit in or near a window so all sides of it receive equal light? I have several plants on a table in front of a living room window, and almost every day or every other day, I give them a half or quarter turn thinking this will ensure all sides get full days of bright filtered light [flower] (there are mini blinds at the window)

I rotate mine. I find it makes their stems stronger & keeps them in good shape. Otherwise they would be leaning toward the light & looking bent over in one direction. Turning them keeps them stretching in each direction evenly & gives them a nicer appearance. That's just my 2 cents...I am sure someone more knowledgable will come along with a post soon:)

Rotating your plants will help them develop more even, symetrical growth. You will find that some plants are more light sensitive (photo-tropic) than others and orient their leaves in the direction of the light.

A good rule of thumb for rotating plants is to rotate a quarter turn with each watering, regardless of the watering frequency. Just remember to alwys rotate in the same direction - either clockwise or counter-clockwise.
