Someone was getting rid of a vine from a philodendron so I took it from her for an "experiment". A small piece of the vine had some leaves left so I cut it and put it in water to root. Then the rest of the windy stem I cut into multiple pieces and put in the water to root aslo. Some of them have already rooted since late Friday afternoon. Will the pieces of the stems get leaves on it now that it is rooting? I know it may sound like a stupid question, but this stem hasn't had any leaves for 6+ months and she was finally cutting it off and throwing it away.

If it has healthy roots and a stem node, then it is capable of developing leaves.
