Hey have any of you grown garden huckleberries before?? I got a free seed pack last year from a seed catalog and I'm excited to try them. And Ebay has been selling the seeds like crazy[I bought alot of unusual seeds off Ebay this year] and thats been fun too. I do know that they grow just like a Blueberry and need a acidic soil and sun,any more info would be great

I have never grown "garden type" huckleberries, so I'm only speaking from the standpoint of my observation of the hundreds of huckleberries that grow here. The healthiest, best producers are the ones that get good morning sun but are shaded during the hottest time of the day.
They grow best in moist areas
The majority of all the plants here are growing directly out of a rotting log, and thriving. (Because of that, I'd dig a good percentage of landscape bark into your huckleberry planting area)
