I have two forsythia that have been cultivated as trees. How do I prune these without damaging them? All the info I find is for the basic shrub variety.

Wow! I've never heard of a forsythia being trained into a tree shape, before. Can you post a picture?
Okay, I know I'm not being any help, here. My guess would be to simply remove any suckers around the base.
How would you like to prune it? Does it need thinning, or do you think the branches are too long?
