A while back when my camelia was blooming I posted that is was loosing it's flowers if you so much as sniffed it. Well, now it has turned limey green instead of dark green and I am loosing two branches. It is about 6 years old and I've never had a problem. I see no bugs or parasites to the naked eye but the leaves turn dark gold and are woody before they die.

Anyone know what's happened??

Is it getting too much water. It is on a bit of a downgrade in the garden bed and I suppose water would run downhill when I water. But I've never had this before. My other one (further UP the bed) is just fine and healthy.

or

Could it be getting too much sun? It's been VERY hot here 85 - 90 degrees. I am on Vancouver Island and I think my zone is an 8.

Any ideas??

thanks
p.s....haven't been around much cause the garden and work eat up all my time but I love it.

Hi Storm,
So sorry to hear this. Camellias can be stricken by a couple of different fungal problems. Take a look at these to see if you can id which one it is.

Good luck,

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.
