I have about 12 garden phlox plants throughout my gardens. I've noticed something happening this year on almost all of them. One or two of the stems is starting to wilt from the top down...it starts out on just the top inch or so, but if I let it go, it eventually takes the whole stem. No cultivar seems to be exempt. Any ideas what's happening?

Alan,

I don't grow this plant, but at first I thought the problem may have been caused by Bacterial Blight or Wilt.

However, please, check the site below on "Stalk Borer" (Papaipema nebris).
