I have lots and lots of plants in my office and was recently given a White Bird of Paradise to add to my collection. I know NOTHING about this plant!!! Please help! The leaves are curling up and turning brown. Is this normal? Can they be cut off? Any tips and tricks for this plant would be appreciated!

Hi Leafy Lady!! Your plant needs: lots of light, water well;but, let it dry out slightly between waterings, it likes about 60% humidity and temps no lower than 55-60 degrees, don't feed it in the winter, and when it looks like it will be blooming, feed it lightly, definately a tropical and the 70 degree range is safer, no drafts and no heat vents nearby. I don't know much else, a friend of mine in Missouri have a HUGE one they have had for years, they have a great room with lots of light, and it is in a huge pot on castors that they move to the deck in the summer. hope I have been some help [lala]

...one other note too....Bird of Paradise like to be root bound....they flower better that way.
