Has anyone ever cheated and used those flower mats that you roll out, water and wait for them to sprout? I am trying one. It seems to be slower than i think it should be, and i dont see to many little leaves yet. If it ever develops into a blossoming flower bed that they advertise, it will be such an easy way to garden.

I bought one for my 7 yr. old daughter to use a couple of years ago...she wanted a garden so bad just like mommy's so I thought a mat would make things nice & simple for her. It took a bit of time to start hers also, but they did eventually grow & bloom [Smile] Make sure not to let it dry out, if you keep it moist it should do just fine. We did find that it didn't really make things any easier though...just more perfectly spaced & lined up. The weeding had to be done just the same as your basic dig & plant garden, as the weeds grew up right through the mat.
