Put some root growth hormone on the end of the cutting and stick in the ground. Keep the soil moist but not wet, they like well drained soil. I would also water it the first 3 or 4 times with root stimulator. If you keep it in 3/4 sun, and not full sun that will help. They usually lose their leaves and put out new ones. It will look like it is going to die for a while but then it will put out new shoots. Mine always wilt the first day or two, don't get discouraged. It will take them about 1 1/2 to 2 weeks to start putting out new sprouts. (At least that is what I have experienced in Texas.) I have a rose garden with about 15 roses in it. Several of them I have started from cuttings.

Hey I just bought a cherokee rose this weekend for 3.50. I was not real big buy it will grow.
