Does anyone know of a climbing, flowering plant that can be grown in a container in zone 8? I'd like to place it on a south facing patio so that it will climb a 5ft fence.

cricket, you could use clematis, coral vine, cherokee rose, gosh, there are lots. i am not sure about your winters... but i know that all of those will grow in a large container.

I have some yellow nasturims that are climbers,but would do better for us in winters when are milder.MG do good in containers just water twice a day.mandevilla vine would do great and the white is hardyier than alice dupont and the yellow is also.if you want year round intrest jasmine vine,carolina jasmine,cross vine will grow lots of feet,allamanda,queens wreath(petrea volubilis)prcelin berry

You could grow a mandevilla vine in a container also.
