ok, first of all, I am going to plant my african violet seeds this week. how deep should they be planted? and do i need to do anything to the seeds first?

second, I have 2 seeds (still in the dried date) that the boys picked up off the ground (the date wasn't dried then) from by a palm tree out on one of the islands (tybee). before I plant it, should i remove it from the dried fruit, do anything to it, etc? also how deep do i plant it and what kind of medium, i was thinking a sand/clay mix since that is what the parent tree is growing in.
