I am landscaping, experimenting still, but am sure all apples will do well. I've planted my favorite eating apple, a green Fugi, a Pippin for baking, and now... I'm wondering, maybe one more, a wonderfully delicious eating RED apple. My boyfriend says in Canada growing up he remembers a wonderful red one from a neighbor's tree (and he is not a fruit lover). Can anybody suggest some apples that could possably be in this catagory? Ofcourse, I am only inland 60 or so miles in a pretty moderate climate, in the middle of California West Coast.

Oh, and I have more questions in my "Greetings from Napa Valley" post. I'm absolutely BEGGING for feedback !!!

There are tons of red apples and I don't know which ones might have been popular in Canada, but you could try looking through some of the apple varieties listed at southmeadowfruitgardens.com. They are apparently in the process of putting their very extensive catalog online as they only have descriptions of varieties starting with the letters A-M and only the names of the rest of their fruits. However, you could purchase the illustrated catlog. It costs $10 online and to me is worth it. 100s of mouth watering descriptions and histories of apples and other fruits.
