I use to have black leaves on my spider plant. But somehow i don't anymore. I take my spider plant to the bathroom sink and run water through it to get it watered. Then i hang on my curtain rod in a west window so it gets full sun. It's too early to tell but i think it might be in the process of makeing spiderlings. I'd love to have many spider plants in my apartment for it is my favorite plant. Robert [wayey]

I read somewhere that black on the leaves is sign of overwatering....
